(TRIGGER WARNING) The story of Certified Valor began four years ago when a scared, hopeless, suicidal girl felt consumed by loneliness. At 15 years old with scars on her wrist and extremely underweight, the idea of talking about her mental illness terrified her. Her mental illness became overwhelming, invasive, and felt like it overtook her identity.

Why is that the case? Why is something that affects so many people an off limits topic? Why do we let it define who we are?

Certified Valor is not only a brand, but a community. It empowers the mental ill, and those in support, to not be ashamed. To fight boldly with grit and resilience; most importantly, to not let it define oneself. You are not your mental illness, you are not alone, and if you’re not ok, that’s ok.
